American Idol Justice…

May 22nd 2008 14:10
Finally, the nation has risen to the occasion and has voted the correct contestant to victory. David Cook, 25 of Blue Springs MO is the American Idol, and I couldn’t be happier. Although generally I haven’t voted in the many seasons that I have watched the TV king, I voted my phone dead on Tuesday night. I was not going to sit by and watch another teen idol come to fruition, then go to the Disney Channel, then date Miley Cyrus, then fizzle out in his mid-twenties, never to be heard from or seen again. That is what I fear would have happened to Archie (David A.). I concur that the boy has talent, and that he should make his living with it, but I believe that his inexperience would have steered him awry. He will do just fine, and in fact will probably have an album hit the shelves before David Cook.

What a night it was for American Idol, beating every record previously set by the media giant, and having a night filled guest stars, and several performances by this seasons top 12 contestants. The Highlight for me was “Sharp Dressed Man” by the legendary rock trio ZZ Top, with DC on lead vocal. A moment I am sure that he will never forget, and neither will I. I must say the low point of the night was the strange song choice, and placement, of George Michael. To have such a song performed before the most anticipated results show in the history of TV entertainment was a bit off the mark.

My thoughts are that all of the AI fans that watched Chris Daughtry in season five and Bo Bice in season four, did not set “Idoly” by and let the best talent go home early. Truly the rocker should have won this year, it was time. We will be watching and waiting for DC’s album to drop, and for those of you that have any pre-AI recordings of David Cook, you could probably sell them for a small fortune. We are happy for you David, both of you.

I was so happy when Cook won. This was the first year that I've actually watched American Idol, and I'm glad that I did. You wanna bet I'll be waiting for Cook's first CD. lol. It's pathetic, but I think it'll definitely be worth it.

I agree Dolly's was great, my fave had to be Don't Wan Miss a Thing tho, perfect.

No one deserved to win more than he, finally the right guy got it.
